Elsie enjoyed sitting on her porch
in the summer,
talking to those who passed by.
She lived in the neighborhood
for more than 40 years.

The front and rear doors to Elsie's house were locked and had security chains in place.

Police believe the killer entered the tidy home thru a unlocked first-floor window. They also believe he left the same way, leaving tracks from work boots in the snow through the backyard into an alley.

The killer had tucked Elsie into bed with blankets and sheets before leaving. More than $400 was sitting on the headboard of the bed left untouched.

We Need to Find Justice For Elsie

Neighbors reported seeing a suspicious man in the neighborhood around the time of the murder. Some said he had knocked on their doors looking for a friend.

Elsie told a neighbor that someone had knocked on her door asking for directions a few days before her murder.....................

Maybe you remember something strange that you didn't think was important at the time, but any information could help police find Elsie's killer.

About a block away in another back yard police found some of Elsie's bloody clothes in a trash can.

The discovery of a dollar bill in Bernville a few weeks after the crime with a handwritten message
"I'm the killer. I raped a 85 year - old lady".
